Pretty in Pink

Filed under: clergy wear — oldcynic @ 7:09 pm

Those of you who know me know I’m not particularly “girly”,  I never have been.  As a child I was a tomboy, as a young adult more green hair & black jeans than make-up and dresses.  I still am pretty much a jeans and Tshirt kind of person, or a rugby shirt if its cold.  Skirts are for those occasions when I have to wear them (interviews and weddings).  It may even come as a suprise to some who havent seen me in a while that i actually own a skirt!  Pink has never been a colour of choice for me.  It just doesnt fit.

Just lately though, something is changing.   It started with my laptop ( a birthday present from Alan) - its pink.  Then the fluffy pink bathrobe, the candy pink Nintendo DS. And now my specs.  Pink frames.  Tasteful, but still pink!

Please, please, please, if you see me in a pastel pink clerical shirt with puffy sleeves or multitudinous darts & pleats, shoot me!  The real me will have been kidnapped by aliens.

  3. I could imagine you in carmine. But I suppose that would send confusing messages.

  4. yeah - I like that colour. I did have a blouse that colour (non clerical) which I seem to remember raised a couple of eyebrows at TISEC
    for some reason.

Wouldnt want one as a “work shirt” though
